The need for flexible and adaptive information management is omnipresent. Information technology dominates and determines our everyday lives, both privately and professionally. For a long time now, it has no longer been a matter of simply obtaining information; rather, the correct selection, filtering, use, preparation and provision of information has been at the forefront of our actions.
Information is the oil of the 21st century. Its collection, cleansing, distillation and extraction is our mission. Our contributions to fulfill this mission range from basic research to applied research and development. Our motivation is always the benefit and use of our research results in application and education.
Our team and our research focus have their roots in the natural sciences and engineering. We value interdisciplinary research very highly. Therefore, in principle, other disciplines are also at home with us and bring other perspectives and approaches to the table. The interdisciplinary collaboration with our colleagues at the Cybernetics Lab is the foundation of our institute and can be felt everywhere.
