About us Innovations arise at the interfaces of disciplines
For four decades, research and teaching at the Cybernetics Lab - a research network consisting of the Chair of Production Metrology and Quality Management of the WZL and the An-Institut für Unternehmenskybernetik e.V. - has stood for consistent interdisciplinarity and cybernetic research methods.

The team of the Chair of Production Metrology and Quality Management researches and teaches on the networking of data, people and technologies for intelligent, future-proof production - digital, sustainable and resilient. In doing so, the teaching and research mission starts with the development and successful use of the latest technologies to address today's and tomorrow's challenges - especially those of production engineering. The focus is on the realization of hybrid as well as autonomous systems consisting of human, machine and virtuality on the basis of data processed into knowledge.

As a non-profit, independent, cross-industry and application-oriented research and development institute, the An-Institut für Unternehmenskybernetik e.V. deals with the core topics of economic and social cybernetics as well as mobile robotics. For this purpose, holistic models and solutions for practice are researched and applied in practice, taking into account the recursion levels of human-organization-technology.

Interdisciplinarity is not a strategy, but our way of thinking

We are drivers of innovation, research partners and trainers for young academics. We look forward to cooperating with you: in publicly funded projects (DFG, EU, BMBF, AIF and more), bilateral industry research or through services and expertise (for example, consulting, preparation of studies, conception and moderation of organizational processes).
