NuMa 4.X
Sustainable and Human-Centered Automotive Factory 4.X
The German automotive industry faces challenges such as addressing climate change through resource-efficient production, demographic changes, and digitalization. Employees are increasingly faced with new digital solutions, instead of being provided with cognitively valuable decisions. The necessary integration of people in the paradigm of modern, resource-efficient, resilient production technology is often missing. The project NuMA 4.X aims to support employees by providing a larger space for action and information, thus increasing self-determination and enabling creative problem-solving in terms of resource-efficient production. The concept is also known as "operator empowerment" and will be implemented across three use cases (forming, joining, and assembly) in a Ford plant in Cologne. The benefits of the developed AI-based system for the employee will also be demonstrated.
