Internet of Production (IoP)

Cense Hanno Projekt

The overall objective of the IoP is thus to create a fully networked production, a Smart Factory, in which all data is uniformly collected and integrated. This follows the goal of realizing holistic optimizations of production, maintenance and logistics processes by means of artificial intelligence methods, e.g. machine learning.

Digital shadows as application-specific aggregated and multi-perspective data sets represent the central scientific approach for this.

In the Cluster of Excellence, a conceptual reference infrastructure will be designed and implemented that enables the generation and use of digital shadows.

The IMA is represented in the subprojects A.I, A.II, A.III, B2.1 as well as B3.2 and pursues the goal to realize holistic technologies for the consolidation of heterogeneous information as well as to research novel methods of artificial intelligence and machine learning using this information.

In addition, the IMA is involved in the Research School, which is responsible for networking and continuing education of the cluster staff. As part of the Expert Group Human, the IMA also contributes to identifying cluster-wide topics relating to human factors and to promoting them in temporary project groups.
