INGRAIN

Sugar Beet Field 4799481326

An intelligent connection of the agricultural, textile and food industries is the basis for innovation-based structural change in the INGRAIN region. The aim is to establish a cross-sectoral, resource-saving and bio-based circular economy. Stakeholders from the Heinsberg district and neighbouring regions are formed into a strong alliance of players from business, science and society.

INGRAIN is based on the use of existing residual, resource and nutrient flows and how these can be utilized across sectors in order to implement innovative technologies and exploit new value creation potential. By means of a transdisciplinary and participatory approach, a competence and service network is to be established.

INGRAIN will make an important contribution to future-oriented structural change in the region. The district of Heinsberg and its neighboring areas from Aachen via Mönchengladbach to the northern “Rheinisches Revier” are thus to become a widely visible innovation region for a bio-based circular economy.
