ARLearn

AR Learn

The project uses augmented reality (AR) to research how to document and utilize the practical know-how of employees. Following on from the previous project ImmPro, manufacturing companies are to be supported in this way to address demographic change, the resulting shortage of skilled workers and to strengthen the competitiveness of Germany as a production location by retaining know-how. The aim of the research project is to develop a modular AR-based knowledge management system for flexible knowledge acquisition and transfer. The core of this system is an AR environment that projects visual aids in the form of digitally simulated procedures or visual cues into the real production environment. Employees are thus provided with didactically prepared and context-specific information about the work process they are about to carry out. In order to optimally design the learning scenarios, a didactic concept is developed in which the needs of the users, the complexity of the production tasks and the potential of AR are taken into account. The solution developed in the project will be tested as a prototype in the production environment of Meissner AG.
