Integration of human-expert knowledge into the control of construction machinery through machine learning methods


Driver-assistance systems have a high potential for increasing the overall efficiency in the operation of construction machinery. The research project BauML tries to tap into this potential by using methods of artificial intelligence. The core approach is to use machine learning to extract expert knowledge of experienced vehicle operators and make it afterwards available to operators in the form of assistance systems. For this purpose, historical machine data from tunnel boring machines and simulation-based synthetic data are used for data analysis.
