The aim of the research project is to develop, validate and transfer AI-supported tools into an AI application space and AI data space to support the successful product design and the quality-oriented production of plastic packaging with a high share of recyclate, combined with the creation of a centralized network platform for value-added engineering services. With the project and its tools, the entire value chain is included - from secondary raw material, material and packaging development, process design, packaging production to consumers.

One focus of the IMA is on intelligent value chain optimization according to product quality, sustainability and economic efficiency - activities in this context include but are not limited to the creation of the necessary infrastructure for model life cycle management based on the Gaia-X infrastructure, the development of description models for the use of hybrid simulations, and the implementation of sustainability assessment measures based on AI-supported correlation analyses.
