At the IoGC final conference, the winning team of this year's Challenge was named. They prevailed against approx. 1200 students from 9 different universities - the participation in Germany has never been so high. And even more news: For the first time, the conference was held in English and digitally, so that international experts from development cooperation and project partner Minergy could participate directly. The winning team from the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen Nuremberg worked on one of the three thematic options for the production of charcoal from invasive species and forest wood residues in the community forests in Nepal. We thank all participants who developed exciting solutions for more efficient tools!

For the choice of topic, teams could choose between developing more efficient tools for harvesting, approaches for transporting the loose biomass, or optimising the charring process. The winning team developed a design for the latter option.
