Data Feedback: Porsche is testing new ways

Many services are available in the connected car area to control vehicle functions via the smart phone. Even if the data exchange with the vehicle is already almost standard in the consumer sector, in the development of vehicles only data from experiments and simulations are usually used. The real stress of vehicles is therefore often only available in estimation. In this context, Porsche AG has been exploring new ways for a long time in order to make large-scale use of data from vehicles in development processes. The Cybernetics Lab supports this with its expertise in data analysis and machine learning. Together with the process experts of Porsche AG, an initial project was completed in 2017 to test the usability of the data for the estimation of vehicle loads. The result was an analytics suite for the application of machine learning in load estimation, which is designed in further cooperation and embedded in the system landscape of Porsche AG.
