BMBF funding notification for €250,000

The Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) officially handed over a certificate of funding to a project consortium led by the WFG in Heinsberg on Wednesday, which has it all: "INGRAIN will make an important contribution to innovation-based structural change in the region." For with the envisaged innovation alliance Agricultural-Textile-Food - from Residue to Reusable Material to Nutrient (INGRAIN), the partners are pursuing ambitious goals: the RWTH Aachen University, the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences and the Economic Development Corporation for the Heinsberg District (Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft für den Kreis Heinsberg mbH) are developing the idea of converting residues from processing operations in the agricultural, textile and food industries into valuable materials or nutrients, thus enabling a bio-based, cycle-oriented and sustainable use of resources on a regional basis. "This innovative approach can help support structural change and create new jobs in the region in the long term," says Rachel. "This is what the BMBF programme 'Change through Innovation in the Region' aims to achieve." "INGRAIN consistently uses the innovation opportunity to sustainably reshape the agricultural, food and textile sectors and raise the profile of the Heinsberg district in post-Corona times." Dr Frank Hees Deputy Director Cybernetics Lab IMA & IfU, RWTH Aachen University
